MISI BANTUAN BANJIR 2.0 – Terengganu & Kelantan, Malaysia 2022

On December 18th, 2022, a relentless storm hit Terengganu and Kelantan, unleashing floods and forcing more than 20,000 people to flee their homes to safety.

• CHILDRITY in collaboration with YAYASAN IKHLAS MALAYSIA, CINTA SYRIA MALAYSIA (CSM), GLOBAL PEACE MISSION (GPM) and IMPACTIVE MALAYSIA launched a heartfelt fundraising campaign to bring relief to flood victims in Terengganu and Kelantan, offering hope and support to those impacted by the devastating floods.
• We delivered essential relief items including hot meals, food parcels, hygiene kits, and emotional support packs. Women received sanitary products, children were gifted “happy kits” to lift their spirits, and families received vital appliances like rice cookers and gas canisters to help rebuild their daily lives.
• In Kuala Berang, Hulu Terengganu, the CHILDRITY team, alongside Yayasan Ikhlas Malaysia, visited several Pusat Pemindahan Sementara (PPS) shelters, bringing much-needed aid and supplies to those displaced and offering moments of relief and support. We extended emotional support to the flood victims, preparing hot meals together and organizing fun activities to uplift the children.
• Later, we visited additional PPS shelters in Besut, Hulu Setiu, and Dungun, spreading comfort and supplies. Beyond distributions, we joined local villagers to clean affected homes and schools, working side-by-side to help restore their communities.
• In Ladang TDM Dungun, we teamed up with the Civil Defence Emergency Response Team (CDERT) to deliver essential food and supplies to flood victims stranded in their homes. Collaborating with GPM Malaysia, we also provided ready-to-eat meal packs to students at Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA), ensuring they had the support they needed during this challenging time.
