On 31 August 2025, a magnitude 6.0 earthquake struck eastern Afghanistan — centred near Nurgal District in Kunar Province. Initial death toll estimates ranged from 800+ to over 2,200. Thousands more were injured; 8,000 homes destroyed or badly damaged. On the ground, families urgently need life-saving medical support, safe shelters, clean water, nourishing food, protected spaces for children, and help to rebuild their homes and vital infrastructure.
On 3rd November, the Childrity team will be heading to Afghanistan for the Kunar Earthquake Mission, where we’ll deliver urgent one-off relief including hot meals, blankets, happy kits for kids, winter clothing, food parcels, and kitchen kits to affected families.
