RUANG ISKUL – SEMPORNA, MALAYSIA

Due to their lack of documentation, thousands of children in Semporna, Sabah are prevented to attend public schools. Our main project in Semporna is RUANG ISKUL – an alternative school for these stateless children, to give them access to education and to prepare them for a brighter future. They would otherwise go their entire lives without any formal education. Most children in Semporna would wearing worn-out clothes and begging for money, this is the way they manage to get by in life.

The school will be built in Kampung Batu, Semporna. The management cost and teaching cost is roughly estimated RM30,000 for 30 students. In addition to academic subjects, we will teach the children the importance of basic hygiene like washing their hands, brushing their teeth and cutting their nails and there will be music and acting classes to enhance their social skills.
