In July 2023, we went to Semporna to focus on addressing various socio-economic challenges faced by local and stateless communities. We visited Kg Batu, Kg Halo and Kg Perigi in Semporna to engage with the local community and did some distributions to help families in need. We have handed out 200 packs of food parcels that were packed by the helpful locals and 100 packs of happy kits (snacks, coloring kit) to the children. We also prepared 100 pcs of KFC fried chicken for kids feast and gave cash aid for the underprivileged families.

Arman is an Indian teenage boy who volunteered under AICT during India Mission before. He lives with his mother in an old house up on a hill. He discontinued his schooling as the fee is beyond their financial means and now he helps his mother selling tea at a stall prepared by AICT. CHILDRITY accumulated funds to support his education, expand Arman’s mother tea shop so that they could earn more and build a new house for them on the flat land.

The India Mission, carried out collaboratively by CHILDRITY and AICT, spanned from June 10th to June 18th, at Delhi, Bihar and Assam. This mission aimed at addressing critical issues such as poverty, health crises, disaster relief, education, and the welfare of marginalized communities in India.

Ramadan Mission CINTA SYRIA MALAYSIA (CSM) in cooperation with CHILDRITY was accomplished on 4th April to 14th April 2023. We went to Nizip Refugee Camp in Gaziantep, Turkiye where 400 Syrian refugees’ families take shelter after the earthquake in February. We distributed 1800 food packs, 275 sahoor and iftaar packs, 250 hot meals and 100 vouchers for baju raya. We held an iftaar event with 400 people in the camp.

In Turkiye, we have distributed 2000 hot meals, 1000 hygiene kits and 1000 blankets. On the other hand, in Syria we rented machinery for 2 days for rescue mission and distributed 180 heaters as well as fuel, 30 mattresses and pillows, 600 blankets, 250 winter clothes for kids, 400 packs ready-to-eat, 800 hot meals and 200 electrical appliances. We also helped put up 30 tents. In addition, we also distributed happy kits for the kids (toys, books, stationaries and snacks) to support children’s emotional wellbeing post traumatic experience.

On December 18th, 2022, a relentless storm hit Terengganu and Kelantan, unleashing floods and forcing more than 20,000 people to flee their homes to safety. CHILDRITY in collaboration with YAYASAN IKHLAS MALAYSIA, CINTA SYRIA MALAYSIA (CSM), GLOBAL PEACE MISSION (GPM) and IMPACTIVE MALAYSIA launched a heartfelt fundraising campaign to bring relief to flood victims in Terengganu and Kelantan, offering hope and support to those impacted by the devastating floods.

In October 2022, CHILDRITY, in partnership with IMPACTIVE MALAYSIA, embarked on a powerful humanitarian mission to Semporna, Sabah. The initiative focused on tackling period poverty, conducting a community circumcision program, and distributing essential food parcels, bringing meaningful support and care to those in need. The people of perkampungan atas air live in harsh poverty, trapped by their stateless status. Without citizenship, they face a life without access to education, limited healthcare, and scarce job opportunities, leaving them in a cycle of hardship and uncertainty.

In Tanzania, Africa, Muslims represent 34% of the population, yet they have faced systemic oppression and poverty for generations. The Qurban and Aqiqah mission, in partnership with IMPACTIVE MALAYSIA, was carried out in the heart of Handeni district, Tanzania, Africa, bringing hope and relief to the local community through acts of compassion and generosity.
